The latest news from TLG is that I’m being re-assigned to Gori, the regional center of Shida Kartli at the end of September. Apparently they have nearly 50,000 people in the city and nearly 90,000 in the district (Gori and 143 surrounding villages), which is, I think, quite a large town for Georgia. Gori is the birthplace of Joseph Stalin, and apparently has an excellent Stalin museum, along with an ethnography museum, a university, and a castle.
