Anglophile Holidays

Today is St. George’s Day and Shakespear’s birthday. I’m more excited about the former, and really wish that I owned a dragon shaped cookie cutter. For those not in the know, St. George was a Roman soldier in something like the fourth century, who was marytered by having his head cut off – I think. He is always depicted fighting a dragon, which I take to be Satan. He’s the patron saint of England, so they have parades and little festivals in his honor.
