Formatting Documents

I like it too much. Of course, it could be argued: I was hired to teach kids how to do this stuff. Well, yes. But it’s a little dangerous to like one’s content area so much when it’s so trivial, and one spends hours and hours (9 hours yesterday!) just looking around at a program, trying to figure out what it can do. That seems a bit excessive too me, anyway.

On the other hand, I did find out some interesting stuff. There seems t be an increasing push to make it easier to separate style from content in word processing documents and web sites; it both makes them easier to manage when they become long and complex, and make them more accessible to people with disabilities, because they can run programs that might, say, read the content to them, and can tell them when something’s a title or list or whatever. It’s kinda neat, really.
